INCLUSIVE SCHOOLS: ALL MEANS ALL – CHAD HYMAS

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 18, 2017    7:00-8:00 PM                SEEKONK HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM                                    Chad Hymas is truly an inspirational award-winning speaker who forever touches peoples’ hearts. In 2001, at the age of 27, Chad’s life was changed in an instant when a 2,000 pound bale of hay shattered his neck, leaving him a quadriplegic. Despite this tragic accident, Chad continues to be an example of hope, resilience, and passion. He was one of the youngest people ever to receive the Council of Peers Award for Excellence and was inducted into the prestigious National Speaker Hall of Fame. He is a best-selling author, president of his own communications company, a recognized world-class, record-setting wheelchair athlete, President of the National Speakers Association (Utah Chapter) and a member of the elite Speakers Roundtable (one of twenty of the world’s top speakers). Chad travels over 300,000 miles a year and he continues to captivate and entertain audiences around the world.

Seekonk High School is seeking community support:

Can you help a Seekonk High School student make more informed choices about their career and college plans? Consider volunteering to be a job shadow host and/or the subject of an informational interview. We will put your name on a list of possible contacts for students interested in doing in-depth career exploration.

FYI: Job shadow hosts allow a junior or senior to visit you at your place of business to get a first-hand look at the job and have time to ask questions and get expert advice.  Informational Interviewees would come to Seekonk High School to meet with students who are interested in knowing more about your line of work.  There is no minimum time commitment in either role–this is done at your convenience.  Anyone wishing to be on the list must consent to a CORI (background) check, which can be processed at SHS or any of the other schools.

Interested?  Please contact Janet Fitzgerald, Transition Coordinator, fitzgeraldj@seekonkschools.org508-336-7272, xt. 62459

Feel free to spread the word to your friends, neighbors, and SHS alumni.

Have a wonderful long weekend!
